Mrk 6:6Ia merasa heran atas ketidakpercayaan mereka.

DOA

Tuhan Allah Yang Mahakuasa
Pencipta langit dan Bumi
Engkaulah Allah Yang Hidup
Amen

ENGLISH

Mark 6:1-6 (English Standard Version):

1 He went away from there and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him.
2 And on the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, "Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How are such mighty works done by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.
4 And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household."
5 And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.
6 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went about among the villages teaching.

REFLECTION

Lord Jesus was in Nazareth, where people and His brothers knew Him as the son of a carpenter. They questioned and doubted Him, so Jesus did not perform any miracles there.

Jesus said that prophets are not honored in their hometown because people feel they know them too well. Despite being the Son of God proclaiming the Gospel for the good of all humanity, they failed to recognize Him. Jesus, for the sake of the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven and the forgiveness of human sins, willingly died on the cross.

Therefore, we must believe that Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God. He came into the world not just for His family or neighbors but for all humanity willing to listen and accept Him. For God is Merciful and Compassionate.

PRAYER

Almighty God,
Creator of heaven and earth,
You are the Living God.
Bless me, Lord, I believe in Your miracles.
Let them happen in my life.
I also pray for world peace,
and may Your Love and Compassion warm the world.
Amen.
