| Mrk 8:1 | Pada waktu itu ada pula orang banyak di situ yang besar jumlahnya, dan karena mereka tidak mempunyai makanan, Yesus memanggil murid-murid-Nya dan berkata: |
| Mrk 8:2 | "Hati-Ku tergerak oleh belas kasihan kepada orang banyak ini. Sudah tiga hari mereka mengikuti Aku dan mereka tidak mempunyai makanan. |
| Mrk 8:3 | Dan jika mereka Kusuruh pulang ke rumahnya dengan lapar, mereka akan rebah di jalan, sebab ada yang datang dari jauh." |
| Mrk 8:4 | Murid-murid-Nya menjawab: "Bagaimana di tempat yang sunyi ini orang dapat memberi mereka roti sampai kenyang?" |
| Mrk 8:5 | Yesus bertanya kepada mereka: "Berapa roti ada padamu?" Jawab mereka: "Tujuh." |
| Mrk 8:6 | Lalu Ia menyuruh orang banyak itu duduk di tanah. Sesudah itu Ia mengambil ketujuh roti itu, mengucap syukur, memecah-mecahkannya dan memberikannya kepada murid-murid-Nya untuk dibagi-bagikan, dan mereka memberikannya kepada orang banyak. |
| Mrk 8:7 | Mereka juga mempunyai beberapa ikan, dan sesudah mengucap berkat atasnya, Ia menyuruh supaya ikan itu juga dibagi-bagikan. |
| Mrk 8:8 | Dan mereka makan sampai kenyang. Kemudian orang mengumpulkan potongan-potongan roti yang sisa, sebanyak tujuh bakul. |
| Mrk 8:9 | Mereka itu ada kira-kira empat ribu orang. Lalu Yesus menyuruh mereka pulang. |
| Mrk 8:10 | Ia segera naik ke perahu dengan murid-murid-Nya dan bertolak ke daerah Dalmanuta. |
RENUNGAN
Hati Tuhan Yesus tergerak oleh belas kasihan ketika Ia melihat orang - orang yang mengikuti dia belum makan selama 3 hari dan menyuruh mereka pulang, mereka dapat jatuh karena lapar terlebih rumah mereka yang jauh. Oleh sebab itu Tuhan Yesus mengadakan mukjizat 5 roti dan 2 ikan menjadi berlipat - lipat agar mereka semua 4000 orang itu dapat makan hingga kenyang.
Tuhan Yesus mengetahui kebutuhan umat Nya oleh sebab itu kita sebagai pengikut Nya hendaklah kita tidak perlu khawatir akan makan atau kebutuhan hidup, karena Tuhan Yesus mengasihi kita terlebih jika kita dekat dengan Tuhan Yesus, maka kita akan diselamatkan, sebab burung pipit saja diberi makan oleh Tuhan terlebih kita sebagai manusia yang dikasihi oleh Allah. Tentu saja Allah akan memberikan apa yang kita butuhkan, apabila kita menaati, mendengarkan, dan melaksanakan ajaran Tuhan Yesus.
Sama seperti ribuan orang yang mengikuti Yesus itu, mereka percaya kepada Tuhan Yesus karena iman mereka diberi makan secara rohani, walau selama 3 hari mereka tidak makan, mereka tetap mengikut Tuhan Yesus, dan Tuhan Yesus mengetahui kebutuhan mereka dan memberi mereka makan melalui mukjizat yang dibuat-Nya.

Ya Tuhan Yesus Terima Kasih atas kasih Mu Tuhan
Walau manusia terkadang berdosa namun Engkau tetap mengasihi umat Mu
Engkau memperhatikan kebutuhan umat Mu
Sebab Engkaulah Allah Yang Mahabaik

Mark 8:1 At that time, there was again a large crowd, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called his disciples to him and said:
Mark 8:2 "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.
Mark 8:3 If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance."
Mark 8:4 His disciples answered, "But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?"
Mark 8:5 "How many loaves do you have?" Jesus asked. "Seven," they replied.
Mark 8:6 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people, and they did so.
Mark 8:7 They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them.
Mark 8:8 The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
Mark 8:9 About four thousand were present. After he had sent them away,
Mark 8:10 he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.
REFLECTION
The heart of the Lord Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the people who had followed Him for three days without eating. He was concerned that if He sent them home, they might collapse from hunger along the way, especially since their homes were far. Therefore, the Lord Jesus performed the miracle of multiplying five loaves and two fish so that all four thousand of them could eat until they were satisfied.
The Lord Jesus knows the needs of His people, so as His followers, we should not worry about food or livelihood, for the Lord Jesus loves us. Especially if we draw near to the Lord Jesus, we will be saved, for even sparrows are fed by God, how much more us, beloved humans. Surely, God will provide what we need if we obey, listen, and follow the teachings of the Lord Jesus.
Just like the thousands who followed Jesus, they believed in the Lord Jesus because their faith was nourished spiritually, even though they had not eaten for three days, they continued to follow the Lord Jesus, and He knew their needs and provided for them through the miracles He performed.
PRAYER
Oh Lord Jesus, thank you for your love, Lord,
Even though humanity sometimes sins, you still love your people.
You pay attention to the needs of your people,
For you are a God of great kindness,
Forever and ever.
