Mat 15:2 | "Mengapa murid-murid-Mu melanggar adat istiadat nenek moyang kita? Mereka tidak membasuh tangan sebelum makan." |
Amin.
ENGLISH:
Mat 15:1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law from Jerusalem came to Jesus and said:
Mat 15:2 "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat."
Mat 15:10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said,
Mat 15:11 "Listen and understand. It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth, that is what defiles them."
Mat 15:12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?"
Mat 15:13 He replied, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.
Mat 15:14 Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit."
"What comes out of the mouth defiles a person, not what is eaten. For what is spoken comes from the heart. In this verse, Jesus leads us to reflect that through our words, we can commit sins that originate from the heart. From the heart can arise evil thoughts, murder, adultery, immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander.
Therefore, we must be cautious in our thoughts and words, as they can lead to sin.
PRAYER:
Lord, keep away all evil thoughts from us.
May our mouths be used for goodness,
Speaking words of Your truth,
Words spoken for You.
Do not let us drift away from You,
So that our hearts may be pure, enabling us to speak well.
Amen."
