Membuka pikiran mereka

Luk 24:42Lalu mereka memberikan kepada-Nya sepotong ikan goreng.

Luk 24:45Lalu Ia membuka pikiran mereka, sehingga mereka mengerti Kitab Suci.

DOA

Ya Tuhan aku membaca Kitab Suci setiap hari
Amen

ENGLISH

Here's the English translation of the passage from Luke 24:

Luk 24:35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

Luk 24:36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

Luk 24:37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.

Luk 24:38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?

Luk 24:39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."

Luk 24:40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet.

Luk 24:41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"

Luk 24:42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,

Luk 24:43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.

Luk 24:44 He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms."

Luk 24:45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

Luk 24:46 He told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

Luk 24:47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Luk 24:48 You are witnesses of these things.

REFLECTION

The two disciples on the road to Emmaus were startled and afraid when they saw the Lord Jesus, because initially they did not recognize Him. It was only when the Lord Jesus broke the bread that they recognized Him, and they were astonished and doubtful because Jesus had already been crucified. Then the Lord Jesus taught them about the Law, the Prophets, and Moses. Jesus opened their minds so that they could understand the Scriptures.

Reading the Scriptures as believers is important so that we read and listen to the words of the Lord. For in the words of the Lord there is truth, there is divine power accompanying the words of the Lord, so that they can become a blessing for us who receive the words of the Lord found in the Scriptures.

Reading the Scriptures can begin with prayer first, asking for the Spirit of Understanding to help us understand the meaning within the verses of Scripture that we read, and asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to correctly understand the content of those verses.

PRAYER

O Lord, I read the Scriptures every day
I believe there is power accompanying Your words, O Lord
Amen
