Mrk 10:2 | Maka datanglah orang-orang Farisi, dan untuk mencobai Yesus mereka bertanya kepada-Nya: "Apakah seorang suami diperbolehkan menceraikan isterinya?" |
Mrk 10:3 | Tetapi jawab-Nya kepada mereka: "Apa perintah Musa kepada kamu?" |
DOA
Ya Tuhan Yesus Kristus
Engkaulah sumber kebenaran hidup
Amen
ENGLISH
**Mark 10:1**
Then Jesus left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to Him, and as was His custom, He taught them.
**Mark 10:2**
Some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"
**Mark 10:3**
"What did Moses command you?" He replied.
**Mark 10:4**
They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away."
**Mark 10:5**
"It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied.
**Mark 10:6**
"But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.'
**Mark 10:7**
'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
**Mark 10:8**
and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
**Mark 10:9**
Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
**Mark 10:10**
When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.
**Mark 10:11**
He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
**Mark 10:12**
And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."
REFLECTION
Jesus teaches about marriage and divorce. The Pharisees asked Him about this to test Him, and Jesus knew their intentions. However, Jesus answered and explained about marriage and divorce.
In marriage, a man and a woman will unite and become one flesh. They will leave their parents.
Regarding divorce, it is clear that Jesus does not agree with divorce because it is equivalent to committing adultery. The rule about divorce exists because of the hardness of human hearts, which led Moses to permit it, even though what God has joined together cannot be separated by man.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the source of true life.
May there be more genuine marriages
And fewer divorces due to the hardness of hearts.
Amen.
